Have you ever wondered what’s in my camera bag? Here is a list of all my best travel photography gear. I recommend investing in a good camera and learning how to use it, because that will improve your photography a lot. Sometimes it’s not about the best camera in the market but about creativity, angles, composition, light and post-processing.
Fujifilm X-T1 – Camera body
The Fujifilm X-T1 is a great camera and mirrorless, which means not as heavy as a dSLR. It’s also weather resistant, which can be really good in some situations (photographing waterfalls, snowstorms…). The AF is quite fast, and this camera can also record video! It works perfectly for us and I am really satisfied with it. I think it’s one of the best travel photography gear pieces out there.
Fujinon 18-135mm F3.5-5.6
I use this lens all the time. I would say it’s the most versatile for traveling, as you can use it to shoot landscape, portraits, close ups… I have even used this one for astrophotography. It’s not the best in each field but it can do a decent job in all of them. The only downside, it’s a big lens hence quite heavy, and F3.5 might not be enough sometimes.
Fujinon 35mm F1.4-16
I LOVE this lens. The F1.4 creates magic. The bokeh is soooo beautiful and it works great in low-light. I use it mainly for portraits and video, but I also use it when it’s a bit dark or I want to get a very cinematographic effect. I bought it last year and some of my favorite pictures have been taken with it.
DJI Mavic Pro – drone
We bought this drone when it came out and have been using it for a couple of years now. It’s quite light, comes with its own case, and perfect for traveling. There are better and newer drones out in the market now, but I want to stick with this one because the Air and the Pro 2 don’t have the portrait mode (vertical mode), which I use a lot to take photos for instagram. I have also crashed it a few times and it’s still alive and well, so can’t complain! It’s definitely a must in travel photography gear.
GoPro Hero 7 Black – action camera
I have never been the biggest fan of GoPro in the past but I needed an underwater camera and can’t afford underwater housings, so decided to try their latest (at the time) model, and I have to say I’m super impressed. All of my underwater photos are taken with this GoPro Hero 7 Black, and some videos too! It supports RAW format, has a super-stabilizer for video, and it’s much faster than the previous ones.
So this is all my gear! Apart from this I also have some accessories that you can see on my Amazon Shop, where I am linking everything I use so you can check it out! Hope you found this useful and if you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask in the comments.
